  • Special features regarding research and development
Research supports not only the actual research focus but also the teaching, and therefore has a direct impact on the students' training. Graduates have not only acquired a methodical manner of working, but are also familiar with research aspects. This guarantees that the demand for qualified management staff for the construction, real estate and furniture industry is met. There are currently four complementary research focuses active in the fields of Architecture, Interior Design and Urban Planning: ConstructionLab, PerceptionLab, UrbanLab and nextPlace.
  • Other special features
With 3 areas of study - interior design, architecture and urban planning - the department offers the entire spectrum of architectural training. The interdisciplinary design theory is seen as a holistic endeavour supported by dynamic creativity, technical innovation and sensitive sustainability. The central task is the relationship between people and space – human centred design. The open campus with loft-like working levels, workshops, studios and laboratories enables a personal and intensive exchange between students and lecturers.
