  • Special features regarding teaching
The department with its main focus on "building" currently has 25 professorial positions (30 in the future), making it one of the largest departments in the field of building. With our multi-professional team of professors ranging from civil engineers, economists, computer scientists to lawyers and psychologists, we are able to offer a very broad range of specialist modules, with civil engineering alone offering five specialisations. The wide range of modules goes hand in hand with a seminar-based teaching principle with small semester groups and teaching support provided by numerous tutorials.
  • Special features regarding the international orientation
The degree course in Civil Engineering offers the opportunity to spend 2 semesters at one of the 11 European partner universities (from Tampere to Valencia) with specialisation in ECEM (European Civil Engineering Management) as part of the degree course. Some university partners offer double degrees. Another exchange agreement is in place with the Zhejiang University of Science and Technology in Hangzhou/China. Thanks to the solid international contacts, free movers also find a wide range of support for foreign study periods and internships.
