Special features regarding teachingThe entire spectrum of civil engineering is offered and taught in the Bachelor's degree course at the OTH Regensburg. Graduates have comprehensive knowledge in the professional field of structural engineers. In all practical and application-related orientation, the necessary theoretical principles are taught, enabling graduates to follow a critically considered process for planning and construction tasks. This prevents overly restrictive specialisation within the subject. In the Master's degree course, additional knowledge and skills are taught that qualify students particularly for management roles.
-

Special features regarding research and developmentOur R&D projects on Energy + Infrastructure are highly interdisciplinary. Our work on the topic of "underground cabling for high-voltage power lines" spans subjects in the faculty and spans faculties and universities in the OTH network. This is supported in the EnResBau OTH research cluster which is located in the faculty. In addition to traditional third-party funding, we also receive funding from small and medium-sized enterprises, consulting companies and local energy suppliers for the development of construction methods, building materials, modelling processes, etc.; Three completed cooperative doctorates in the years 2015-2017
