Special features regarding teachingClear project orientation; very good staff-student ratio thanks to study in small courses, direct and good contact with professors and assistant professors; laboratories and rooms with state-of-the-art technology; high standard of teaching; integrated Bachelor's degree course in Civil Engineering (Construction, Environment, Construction Materials) across the breadth of engineering principles as well as subject-specific Master's degree courses, a coordinated teaching concept with experiments, practical work, projects and excursions; an international focus.
-
Special features regarding the international orientationThe faculty has an excellent international network, both in research and in teaching. Within the scope of the "Strategic partnerships" programme, joint activities have been developed with Tongji University in Shanghai (China), Moscow State University of Civil Engineering (Russia) and the University of California, San Diego (USA) and positioned on a strategic basis. The number of English-language courses, especially in the field of "Sustainable Transportation Planning", was significantly increased. 98% of the students in the NHRE degree course are international students.
-
Exchange universities for stay abroadsUniversidad de Salamanca, Salamanca, Spanien; Politecnico di Milano, Milano, Italien; Aristoteleio Panepistimio Thessalonikis, Griechenland; Stellenbosch University, Stellenbosch, Südafrika; Asian Institute of Technology, Pathumthani, Thailand
-
Special features regarding the equipmentThe faculty has a powerful IT framework. Students have access to rooms with state-of-the-art computing and communication technology. Experimentation plays an important role in teaching and research. The faculty set up new laboratories and continually expanded its existing facilities in recent years. It has the necessary scientific and technical capacities in all key fields with its laboratories (for an overview see: http://www.uni-weimar.de/de/bauingenieurwesen/forschung-und-kunst/labore/).
-
Special features regarding research activitiesThe faculty promotes "Digital Engineering" as a key area, as well as "Materials and Construction", "Environmental Engineering" and "Management". ? The teaching and research area of "Management (Construction, Property, Infrastructure)" sets standards in ed

Support for foundersInterested parties receive support from "neudeli", the start-up service of Bauhaus University, Weimar. It has been the central point of contact since 2001 for students, graduates and staff interested in setting up a business.
-
Other special featuresThe Faculty of Civil Engineering can look back on more than six decades of renowned, well-founded engineering training. Due to the past development of the university, a range of professorships with a focus on natural sciences and materials are represented in the faculty alongside the classic professorships for the field. They make a major contribution to today's broad spectrum in teaching and research. This structure enables the rapid and continuous expansion and adaptation of the faculty's training and research profile to the latest structural changes.

(CE)= Civil Engineering (EnvCE)= Environmental Civil Engineering (IntDiscip)= very interdisciplinary and thus not classified;
As the ranking is done for the whole subject area, for the single "sub-subjects" it can happen that not all rank groups are represented in all criteria.
