Special features regarding teachingThe Cconomics department of the Friedrich Schiller University Jena guarantees on the one hand a broad and professionally qualifying basic training and on the other hand a theoretically demanding and in-depth training in key areas of Business Administration, Economics, Business Informatics and Pedagogy. The courses enable responsible, interdisciplinary thinking and acting in the appropriate specialist context. Using the knowledge gained, students can analyse complex issues, interpret findings and work out solutions using an inter-disciplinary approach.

Special features regarding the equipmentThe campus lies at the heart of the city, with a new cafeteria and a highly modern building for the study of Law and Economics. New lecture theatres and large seminar rooms, computer centres, library that is also open on weekends and late into the evenings, individual academic chairs are brought together under one roof. Other special featuresStudents of the faculty are to be introduced to digitalisation as part of an improved and intensified education with method-based and at the same time application-oriented software courses. After the successful completion of the required courses, an additional certificate will be issued, which students can acquire through a suitable choice of existing and new courses related to digitalisation. A certificate is issued which is independent of the degree certificate.
