  • Special features regarding teaching
As part of the PoLiMINT project, problem-based learning (PBL) is already implemented during the initial study phase of the degree course. To this end, appropriate learning environments are developed, introduced and adapted for basic modules, e.g. Engineering Physics. The PoliMINT LAB is a type of test and work space in the form of a project seminar. The basic idea is to experiment with different concepts for problem-based learning environments and their social dynamics in order to gauge the subject-specific, didactic and methodological suitability.
  • Special features regarding the international orientation
More than 40 cooperation agreements with partner universities worldwide. A further impetus is provided by the New Yorker liaison office in the district of Manhattan which the Hochschule Bremen maintains together with six partner universities of applied sciences in the "German House". The establishment of the Master's degree course is another important milestone in the international focus. As a forward-looking, technical degree course in the natural sciences in English, it makes the Hochschule Bremen even more attractive on the international education market.
  • Exchange universities for stay abroads
Lapland University of Applied Sciences, Finnland; Dublin Institute of Technology, Dublin Irland; Universität Osijek, Osijek, Kroatie; Technische Universität Riga, Riga, Lettland; Hanzehogeschool Groningen, Groningen, Niederlande; NTNU Norwegian University of Science and Technology, Trondheim, Norwegen; Hochschule Jönköping, Jönköping, Schweden; Blekinge Institute of Technology, Karlskrona, Schweden; Universidad Politécnica Catalunya, Barcelona, Spanien; German Jordanien University, Amman, Jordanien
  • Special features regarding the equipment
There are sufficient teaching and laboratory rooms available to conduct projects and research. Laboratory supervision – also within the scope of project work, coursework and final theses – is guaranteed by highly qualified staff. Equipment is excellent thanks to the high level of third-party funding.
  • Special features regarding research and development
Research group funded by the BMBF's young talent programme in engineering with the aim of consolidating the way to cooperative doctorates. The research group has already produced 2 PhD graduates, and 2 more are currently in the final stage of their doctoral degree.
  • Support for founders
The degree courses include specific modules on company start-ups. Company start-ups are supported by the BRIDGE network (Bremen university initiative for the promotion of entrepreneurial thinking, company start-ups and entrepreneurship, http://www.bridge-online.de/bridge.html).
