Special features regarding the equipmentThe department has excellent technical equipment via programming boards, data entry cards and software licenses etc. There is also comprehensive access to electronic databases such as IEEE Xplore and the VDE and VDI set of standards.

Special features regarding research and developmentParticipation in the ZIM project: development of a method for weather-independent performance determination of photovoltaics plants; With a network simulator the behaviour of components of renewable energies and the smart grid can examined during exceptional grid conditions. This includes battery storage systems, chargers for electric vehicles and highly efficient lighting and drive systems.

Support for foundersA strong working relationship is in place with the Transfer Agency and with the start-up advice team of the university, and there are good links with the regional business development agency, which is responsible for company start-ups.
