Through the specialisation in Mechatronics, incoming and outgoing students can acquire a dual degree course with Tongji University in Shanghai. This takes place through a one-year stay abroad in the respective host country. In the first semester technical skills are acquired and in the second semester the Bachelor's work placement is completed or the Bachelor's thesis written.
-

The laboratory for industrial robotics has three networked IIWA robots and is fitted with a system for process engineering and a fully automatic filling system for production and process control technology. Modern IT systems are available in the control room. The adjacent XR laboratory has equipment for virtual reality, augmented reality and additive manufacturing processes. In the field of renewable energies, there is a virtual power station for wind energy, solar thermal energy and photovoltaics, biomass and energy storage.
-
Special features regarding research and developmentThrough the teachers of the degree course, a number of application-oriented research and development projects are carried out, usually with companies (e.g. Energy Efficiency, Environmental Engineering, Ambient Assisted Living); Students can participate as academic assistants or in team projects; Laboratory equipment of the research and development projects is also used in teaching; Support for students' research and development work as preparation for business start-ups.
