Special features regarding the international orientationThere are currently no courses and lectures offered in a foreign language. An international Master's course in English is planned from the winter semester 2019/2020. This Master's degree will be based in the Electromobility department. In the field of research, there are various intensive contacts with international research and teaching facilities as well as to industry. A course is offered abroad as part of a cooperation.
Special features regarding the equipmentIn the ELT faculty, there is a unique EMC measurement facility for surveying complete vehicles during operation (roller test bench in the EMC booth). There is also a modern energy storage laboratory, an environmental testing laboratory for mechanical vibration strains under climate conditions, a lighting engineering laboratory, laboratory for experiments in the area of e-mobility, smart grids and drive technology, laboratory for hardware in the loop system (HIL) for Control technology and systems theory, a clean room laboratory and a laboratory for augmented reality.
Special features regarding research and developmentResearch activities higher than average for universities of applied sciences in all fields of Electrical and Information Engineering as well as Automotive Electronics and interdisciplinary with other faculties; Several interdisciplinary and inter-faculty project structures; Special research skills for EMC laboratory; Electrical Energy Storage Technology; Electromobility, Nanotechnology, including OLEDs, Embedded Systems, Data Glasses Systems (Augmented Reality), Digital Signal Processors and Microsystems Engineering
Support for foundersThe large number of research projects puts graduates and scientific staff into contact with research institutions and industry. This facilitates the acquisition of contracts and helps put start-up ideas into practice. Students can get advice from the Career Service and benefit from other services of the SAXEED start-up network.
Other special featuresThe ELT faculty works to include students in current research through student assistant posts and thereby facilitate the start to their professional careers. In addition, the professors, staff and students visit the relevant educational trade fairs and explain the ELT faculty's degree courses and career opportunities after graduation to prospective students. In addition, students can be involved in the development of self-driving model vehicles and participate in competitions.
