  • Special features regarding teaching
Teaching is a top priority for us. The transition from school to university is supported, for example through exercises in small groups and supplementary offers (introductory courses, tutorials etc.). In the Bachelor's programme, the essential basic knowledge and associated methods and problem solving skills are taught. The Master's programme is aimed at an individual research specialisation. Project-based learning provides insight into the future world of work and trains team skills and goal orientation. Stays abroad are possible without loss of time.
  • Special features regarding the international orientation
The ET&IT institute offered the successful international degree course "Digital Communications" for many years. Starting in the coming winter semester, the Master's degree in ET&IT will be taught in English only. This gives international students access not only to the courses in the area of "Digital Communications", but also to all specialisation modules. International students are well prepared by the teaching offerings for an ERAMUS semester or a complete Master's degree at the University of Kiel.
  • Exchange universities for stay abroads

  • Special features regarding the equipment
The grounds of the Engineering Faculty are also home to the Kiel Nano lab, in which groups from the Institute for Materials Science as well as Electrical Engineering and Information Technology research the field of Nano Systems Technology. There have been a number of new appointments in recent semesters and as part of this a large proportion of the institute's equipment has been replaced. In the coming years, a new research building will be created for the centre for networked sensor systems including lecture hall and library areas on the Ostufer campus of the technical faculty.
  • Special features regarding research activities
The Institute of Electrical Engineering and Information Technology is involved in the research focus areas "Information Engineering" and "Nanosystems Engineering", in collaborative research centres and clusters of excellence of Christian-Albrechts-Univers
  • Support for founders
