    Electrical Engineering and Information Technology is a department within the Faculty of Engineering. With its 73 subject areas, it is one of the largest engineering faculties in Germany. In the range of compulsory elective subjects, this enables broad interdisciplinary training. There are four cross-departmental key research areas: "Tailored Materials", "Human-Centered Cyber-Physical Systems", "Smart Engineering" and "Energy and Resource Engineering".
