    Practically oriented teaching; Students are taught the scientific-technical basics and methods, key technical qualifications, application-specific system knowledge and non-subject-specific skills such as teamwork, verbal skills, presentation skills and project management. Blended-learning offers complete the seminar classes. Many modules includes additional optional courses. Industrial design and mechanical construction are mutually reinforcing.

    The Mechanical Engineering and Mechatronics faculty is equipped with numerous modern laboratories, which are used for teaching, practicals and project work and can also be used by students in their free time; this includes a modern production laboratory with industry 4.0 data networking and augmented reality technology, a robotics laboratory, various laboratories for materials testing and analysis, plastics technology laboratories, a forge, student project areas with equipment, Fraunhofer Application Centre for Computer Tomography.
