    Semester abroad placement at the partner university Tec de Monterrey in Mexico or other higher education institutions under the scope of DAAD exchange programmes, practical semester placement in partner companies abroad, final these placement in companies abroad.
  • Special features regarding the equipment
    Variety of teaching laboratories; Almost every module includes laboratory practicals; Test benches and systems meet a high technical standard consistent with state-of-the-art technology;Research laboratories are used for the Master's degree training; Lecture theatres and seminar rooms are outfitted with state-of-the-art equipment. CAD, CAM and CAE laboratories are available for training. In the field of Energy and Environmental Engineering, the equipment of the Zittau public utility company is actively used for practical training. A high-power neutron generator is used for radiation studies.

    The key research projects occur in the fields of Energy and Environmental Engineering as well as Plastics Engineering and Lightweight Construction. The focus is on: Optimisation of energy systems; Use of biomass for energy purposes; Biorefinery; Heat storage together with the Fraunhofer IFAM; Flow-related studies; Material value thermodynamics; Function-integrating plastics engineering together with Fraunhofer IWU; Process Engineering with GWT Dresden; Radiation Engineering in Technology and Medicine; Tests on radon contamination in public buildings.
