Special features regarding the international orientationThe faculty strengthens research and teaching in particular. The primary goals of the internationalisation of research are therefore the acquisition of excellent international scientists and junior researchers and the expansion and strengthening of international cooperation projects to promote networking. Specific goals of the internationalisation of teaching are the acquisition of motivated and high-performing international students and the promotion of exchange programmes for students, lecturers and staff.

Characteristics of assistance to differently abled personsThe faculty works closely with the KIS (Contact and information office for students with disabilities and chronic conditions). KIS and the officer of the university management for students with disabilities and chronic conditions are mandated to work towards implementation of the recommendation of the German Rectors’ Conference (HRK) for a “University for all” at the university of Würzburg, taking into account equal opportunity and student participation, in order to make a significant contribution to improving the academic situation of disabled students and those with chronic conditions.
Characteristics of diversity advancementThe faculty supports scientists and academics with their career planning and professional prospects with regard to a future leadership role. Intercultural communication and skills, systems thinking, the ability to identify connections between different global systems and draw conclusions on that basis are taught and practised in the working groups, initially during the Bachelor’s dissertation phase and then in much greater depth in the Master’s project phase (2nd year of Master’s degree).
Other special featuresWürzburg is a lively university town where everything is within easy reach; there is a large range of leisure facilities, lots of festivals and low rent prices. Today at the Faculty, internationally leading groups carry out research on the most exciting questions in basic research and concern themselves with the application potential of the findings. Special plus points are the intensive cooperation with foreign higher education institutions. This enables parts of the Master's degree course to be completed in America or in another European country without any loss of time.
