Locations: University Library Vechta, Driverstraße 26, 49377 Vechta; Stock: The library provides a current and demand-oriented selection of literature and media: in addition to printed volumes and print magazines, numerous E-Books, databases and E-Journals; Services: In the library building: Single workstations (with / without PCs), individual workrooms, group workspace. Courses on the following topics: Basics of library use and catalogue research; SMART Board; Literature management; book scanners / multifunction devices for printing, copying and scanning; Self-checkout of media (lending / return); WIFI; Information service; Visit to the ‘Rolf Dieter Brinkmann’ collection, the only of its kind in Germany ; Virtual information (chat); Live online training on library usage and instruction in information skills. more information
Foreign language center and courses
There is a foreign language centre. Languages offered: English, French, German as a foreign language, Spanish, Portuguese, Italian, Polish, Russian, Chinese, Turkish, Arabic, Dutch. German as a Sign Language. more information
Special features regarding university sports
The university offers its own sports programme. Some courses are free of charge, some subject to fees. The courses are oriented towards leisure and popular sports, and therefore scheduled so that movement and sporting activities can be combined with fun and communication. In terms of health sports, strength is built up and individual performance improved. The university has a gymnasium, a gym hall, a multi-functional room, a fitness centre, an indoor-cycling area as well as a multi-functional 'beach' site, a football pitch and track and field athletics facilities in the outdoor area. Sports: In-person sports events are unfortunately limited at the moment as a result of the pandemic. We advise watching the homepage for the latest developments.
