Special features regarding university sports
The university offers its own sports programme. Some courses are free of charge, some subject to fees. Students attending the institution can participate in the sports programme of the TU Dortmund, University of Duisburg-Essen (with the status of being a student at another higher education institution.) University-owned 1,100 square meter gym within walking distance of the main station; In the winter semester 2018/19 there are over 450 courses per week in 95 types of sports; large Diving Sports Department; cooperation with other sports operators to offer golf, inline skating, tennis (indoor), SUP; artificial lawn field. The programme is open to: Hochschule für Gesundheit (hsg), Ev. FH Bochum, TH Bochum, Bochum University of Applied Sciences, EBZ Business School.
