Special features regarding the library
The University and State Library of Düsseldorf supports literary students with 2.5 million printed media, 3,000 current print magazines, 49,000 licensed electronic journals, 168,000 e-books and 880 databases, as well as a comprehensive range of services and training courses from online chat up to electronic semester apparatuses. It provides 2,300 individual workstations with Internet access via WiFi as well as many group workspaces and very good working conditions every day until midnight – also at weekends. more information

Special features regarding university sports
The university offers its own sports programme. Some courses are free of charge, some subject to fees. According to §3 (5) HRG (German Higher Education Framework Act ) NRW, the Hochschulsport Düsseldorf e.V. offers the students of the Heinrich-Heine University a sports and exercise program that is predominantly based on popular sports. The participation of students of Heinrich-Heine University in the sports offered by other universities is the responsibility of the respective university. In general, students of the Heinrich Heine University can participate at the state universities of North Rhine-Westphalia, which belong to the Landeskonferenz Hochschulsport NRW. The students of all higher education institutions are allowed to participate in the sports program after paying a license fee (30 € / 2 semesters), except for other paid courses. Student of the HHU participation in the university sports of external universities is decided upon by the resident university sport representatives. The Düsseldorf university sports programme is comprised of the four state Düsseldorf universities. The programme includes over 70 different types of sports with more than 120 courses per week. The university sports programme is financed via the solidarity contribution in the enrolment fee. more information
