Special features regarding the library
The central library of sports science (ZBSport) is the university library for the German Sport University Cologne and the largest international specialized library of sports and sports science. It comprises approx. 900 subscriptions to journals and 428,000 media items of which approx. 10,000 volumes are in the textbook collection (as at 01/01/2019), and offers interlibrary loans and document supply. Many historic collections can also be found in the ZBSport. more information

Special features regarding university sports
The university offers its own sports programme. Some courses are free of charge, some subject to fees. Sports program University of Köln university sports moves! Whether diving, break dancing, floorball, rugby or Tai Chi Chuan - the general university sports of SpoHo has a lot to offer. Together with the university sports of the University of Cologne, as part of the cooperation UniSport2, the two universities offer the most comprehensive sports program in the city. The courses taking place close to the campus alone involve about 500 weekly hours of university sports in more than 120 different sports and exercise areas. Dr. Norbert Stein is head of the general university sports. Competitive communities: Students and employees of German universities and technical colleges have the opportunity to represent their institutions and participate in an attractive range of competitions, either as a team or individually. The organizer is the umbrella organization of the university sports facilities, the General German University Sports Association (Allgemeine Deutsche Hochschulsportverband or adh). There are national (DHM) and international German University Championships (IDHM) in more than 30 sports as well as other tournaments and competitions. more information
