Special features regarding the library
The Central Library of Sports Science (ZBSport) is the university library for the Deutsche Sporthochschule Köln and the largest specialist library in the world for Sports and Sports Science. Up until 2013 it was supported as a special collection library of the German Research Foundation. It comprises approx. 1,100 subscriptions to journals and 420,000 media items of which approx. 10,500 volumes are in the textbook collection (as at 01/01/2016), and offers interlibrary loans and document supply. Many historic collections can also be found in the ZBSport. more information

Special features regarding university sports
The university offers its own sports programme. Participation is subject to fees. The programme is open to students of all higher education institutions in Cologne. Students attending the institution can participate in the University of Cologne sports programme. A varied programme which focuses on fitness, budo and martial arts, ball and racket sports, nature and individual sports, body and soul, water sports and dancing. Moreover, there are training sessions/licences and collaborations with third parties in outdoor sports and sport tours. Comprehensive competitive sports programme for students including opportunities to participate in the World Student Games. more information
