Special features regarding the library
The Uni Stuttgart has a 2-tier library system with a university library at two sites (city centre and Vaihingen) with 1.63 million units and 121 institute libraries with a further 815,000 volumes. The university library makes 29,000 e-journals and 399 databases and 52,000 e-books available across the campus. It features 1,156 workspaces of which 88 are PC workstations. Group workplaces are also available. 6 free book scanners are available to users. WiFi is available in both buildings. Opening Hours: Mon-Fri 8:00-24:00, Sat-Sun 10:00-24:00. more information

There is a foreign language centre. English, French, Spanish, Portuguese, Italian, Polish, Russian, Chinese, Japanese, Turkish, Arabic, Dutch, Swedish, German as a Foreign Language (DaF). more information
Special features regarding university sports
The university offers its own sports programme. Participation is subject to fees. The sports programme is aimed at students of Uni Stuttgart, the Hochschule der Medien, the Hochschule für Technik and the Akademie der bildenden Künste. As part of a cooperation agreement, students can also use the excursions and workshops of other universities in BW at student rates. The programme is open to: Macromedia University of Applied Sciences, Hochschule für Kommunikation und Gestaltung, Stuttgart Media University, HFT Stuttgart University of Applied Sciences, State Academy of Fine Arts, Merz Academy, Fraunhofer Institute. There are over 400 courses on offer in seven areas (competitive games, individual sports, health & fitness, outdoor activities & excursions, martial arts and dance), led by around 200 qualified instructors. Both beginners and advanced students are welcome to participate.. more information
