With a stock of nearly 4 million volumes and extensive digital resources, Thuringia University and State Library (ThULB) is not only valued as a "place of learning" but also as a provider of information. The "Universal Multimedia Electronic Library" of the ThULB is a powerful platform for various applications. Members of the university can publish work electronically worldwide and integrate multimedia into teaching, e.g. using the electronic course reserves in which lecturers can make materials available. more information

Special features regarding university sports
The university offers its own sports programme. Participation is subject to fees. Students attending the institution can also participate in the sports programme of all the higher education institutions in Thuringia. The programme is open to: The university sports programme is open to students, staff, alumni and trainees of the Friedrich Schiller University Jena and the Ernst-Abbe-Hochschule Jena University of Applied Sciences, the Staatliche Berufsschule für Gesundheit and Soziales, the Studentenwerk Thuringia, and members of the University Sports Club. Anyone from outside the university who is interested in taking part can participate in our university sports courses if there is free capacity.
