Special features regarding the library
Approx. 40,000 print media in an open access shelf system. The e-media collection (e-books and e-journals) is larger than the print collection. Students of the HFT can access most of the e-media items from outside the campus via Shibboleth authentication, which means they can be accessed 24/7 from around the world. Individual support for students at the combined IT and library information desk. Members of the HFT can borrow iPads. Team reference management with Citavi license. Users have free access to 2 book scanners. 50 workplaces and 5 single cubicles. more information
Foreign language courses
There is a foreign language centre. English, Spanish., Italian, Chinese, Japanese. French is additionally offered using the language software used at the university. more information
Special features regarding university sports
The university does not have its own sports programme. Some courses are free of charge, some subject to fees. Students attending the HFT Stuttgart can participate in the University of Stuttgart sports programme. The university also offers an internal yoga course for students, and there is a running group for teaching staff, employees and students who train together and participate in the city run. The sports programme is open to students and members of the university. The team sports of football and volleyball always look for active members. There are regular tournaments as well as the university championships of Baden-Wuerttemberg in these sports. In the winter semester, the traditional “Bauschullauf” for students as well as graduates takes place in Jungholz together with the Hochschule Esslingen. The run is for skiers who know how to do cross-country and giant slalom, as well as for snowboarders. more information
