Special features regarding university sports
The university offers its own sports programme. Some courses are free of charge, some subject to fees. The university sports programme is open exclusively to the students and staff of the Technische Hochschule Deggendorf and its main focus is on popular sports. There are up to 15 courses per semester (from badminton to zumba). Competitive athletes have the option to participate in a university team or compete as an individual athlete in university championships. In order for the university sports programme to be of interest to as many people as possible, it is constantly updated and coordinated. In addition to conventional sports courses, less well-known sporting disciplines (e.g. flag football, ghetto workout) and self-defence courses for women, skiing weekends, excursions and sports camps are also integrated into the university sports programme. High-performance athletes at the THD have already won many titles at national and international championships and were represented at the Universiade. The successes achieved by the team sports football, volleyball and recently also basketball have made the TH Deggendorf the most sports-oriented university at a state level. more information
