Special features regarding the library
The university library of the Hochschule für nachhaltige Entwicklung Eberswalde (HNEE) is a central institution; it caters for the university’s scientific literature and information needs, both in conventional and electronic form, for academic studies, teaching, research and continuing education. Half of the print collection of approx. 180,000 volumes is available on open access shelves; in addition to the print collection, there are e-journals and e-books. Book scanners and copiers as well as carrels for individual and group work are available. Information literacy and media skills training is available. more information

There is a foreign language centre. English, French, Portuguese, Spanish, Italian, Polish, Russian, Chinese, Swedish, German as a Foreign Language (DaF). more information
Special features regarding university sports
The university offers its own sports programme. Participation is subject to fees. The sports programme of universities in Berlin and Brandenburg is open to students of the HNEE, if spaces are available. This also depends on the host university. A club organises the sports programme: Badminton, football (indoor), basketball, table tennis, Aikido, bouldering, archery, volleyball, active break (relaxation exercises with professional physiotherapist), canoe and kayak, forest running/jogging, improvisational dance, windsurfing, acrobatics, rugby, meditation, pilates, tango, unicycling etc. more information
