Special features regarding the library
The library offers general and subject-related introductions and training events on independent use of the library and topical literature research. The stock comprises around 113,000 print media items, 541 journals and newspapers and a diverse range of audiovisual and non-print media. A variety of offline databases are available to users on CD-ROM (Carelit and construction equipment list), which can be used for free in the reading room (individual workstation licences). In addition, the library is home to an extensive range of online databases and electronic journals. more information

Special features regarding university sports
The university does not have its own sports programme. Participation is free of charge. Students attending the institution can participate in the University of Bremen sports programme.Special cutter rowing: in 1986, the Nautical Science degree course organised the first international cutter rowing race on the Weser river. The Hochschule Bremen has several student teams and a staff team. Cutter rowing is a sport in which a cutter (a lifeboat from a large ship) is powered (rowed) a specified distance by a team of about 10 people plus a cox. more information
