Opening times central course guidance
Brief information and information materials can be obtained from the Hochschule Bremerhaven information centre, An der Karlstadt 8, Building K 010, 27568 Bremerhaven. Individual appointments can be made by telephone (+49 (0)471 4823-556), or by e-mail (studienberatung@hs-bremerhaven.de). Appointments are also possible by arrangement.
Special features regarding the library
Read your textbooks in a comfortable corner, write assignments in a quiet atmosphere, or search for new information sources in a database – students can do all those things in the library at the Hochschule Bremerhaven University of Applied Sciences. Many students are surprised at how much the library has to offer them. They can borrow from around 70,000 textbooks, leaf through 120 different journals and have access to more than 400,000 e-books. And for further research they can refer to 52,000 e-journals and specialised databases. more information
Foreign language courses
There is a foreign language centre. The foreign language centre of the universities within the state of Bremen (FZHB) offers free language courses at the Hochschule Bremerhaven in English, German as a Foreign Language, French, Italian and Spanish. In addition, the FZHB offers courses in 20 languages, preparation for international students for the TestDaF examination in cooperation with the Goethe Institute, as well as intensive courses and international certificates, all subject to fees at the Universität Bremen. A special self-learning centre at the university also offers learning material and exercises for 40 languages - from audiobooks to special training programmes and complete self-learning courses to help you build your language proficiency independently. more information
Special features regarding university sports
The university offers its own sports programme. Participation is free of charge. The varied sports programme for students is always available online on the web pages of AStA, the General Students' Union. In addition, the Hochschule Bremerhaven offers students the opportunity to acquire a sailing and motorboat license in cooperation with the Weser Yacht Club. more information
