Special features regarding the library
Fulda University and State Library (HLB) offers its stock at two sites: on the campus and in the city centre on Heinrich-von-Bibra-Platz. In addition to the print stocks, the library also offers e-books, e-journals and databases. The HLB has obtained a campus licence for the literature management system Citavi for literature management and knowledge organisation purposes. With its new building constructed in 2013, the HLB is a state-of-the-art on-campus learning and information centre, complete with many individual and group work rooms and a training room. more information
Foreign language courses
There is a foreign language centre. Every semester, the Centre for Cross-Cultural Language Practice offers a variety of courses (curricular and extracurricular) in Arabic, Chinese, Danish, English, French, German as a Foreign Language, Hungarian, Italian, Persian, Polish, Portuguese, Russian, Spanish, Swahili, Swedish, Turkish, and other languages as required. Language courses at all target levels of the "Common European Framework of Reference"; Certificate courses (B2/C1) in English, French and Spanish; DSH courses; courses with a variety of foreign language specialisations (e.g. English for Business, Russian for Science and Business, etc.); blended learning and independent learning courses by means of e-learning (Speexx) and online support; tandem partner mediation; TOEFL itp, TOEIC and DAAD language test; DELE and DALF preparation. Other courses and consultancy "Writing Workshop" for "German as a Business Language" for all students. more information
Special features regarding university sports
The university offers its own sports programme. Some courses are free of charge, some subject to fees. Students attending the institution can participate in the sports programme of all higher education institutions in Hesse. The general university sports programme of Fulda University of Applied Sciences offers a wide range of activities in the following areas: leisure, health and recreational sports. In the educational ranking of the German University Sports Federation in 2014 and 2015, the Fulda university sports programme (HSP) came first. The HSP has a good network in the region and close connections with organised sports. HSP courses and activities are also offered on a reduced scale during the non-lecture periods. FiduS, the active exercise break for students and teaching staff is part of the HSP. more information
