Special features regarding the library
The university library and specialist libraries at the FU Berlin form a cooperative library system with a total of around 13 loan and reference libraries. The print stock encompasses a total of around 8.5 million media and approx. 1.5 million microforms. With the Primo library portal, the Freie Universität offers digital access to around 1,600 databases, 75,000 e-journals and over 600,000 e-books. The Primo Central megaindex enables access to more than 900 million titles of specialist literature available electronically from external providers (including JSTOR, EBSCO, Web of Science). more information

Special features regarding university sports
The university offers its own sports programme. Participation is subject to fees. Students attending the institution can participate in the sports programme of the HTW Berlin University of Applied Sciences, Humboldt University of Berlin (HUB), Technischen Universität Berlin (TUB), and Beuth University of Applied Sciences (BHT). The central university sports facility of the Freie Universität Berlin offers not only a wide range of sporting disciplines, workshops and sports trips, but also an advanced programme in the area of “FUndament Gesundheit” as well as (counselling) services for members of the university. The programme is open to students of all higher education institutions in Berlin. Students of the cooperating universities can participate on the same terms as FU students. All others can also sign up, but they pay a higher fee. more information
