Opening times central course guidance
Telephone consultation hours: +49 (0)30 2093-70270; Mon 10:00-12:00, Tue and Wed 13:00-15:00. Personal drop-in consultation hours: at the Mitte campus: Mon 13:00-15:00, Tue 9:00-11:00, Thu 13:00-15:00 and Fri 10:00-12:00. At the Adlershof campus: Tue and Fri 10:00-12:00. Appointments are also possible by arrangement.
Special features regarding the library
The university library's collection profile covers numerous specialist collections as well as the university's art collection (Curatorial Office), which includes a diverse stock of works of art. As an institution with central responsibility for the entire university, the university archive, as part of the university library, has a total of over 8,000 documents and an excellent collection of academic bequests. PRIMUS, the search engine introduced in 2011, offers an innovative method of accessing knowledge contained in the university library stock, with 7.8 million search requests per year. more information
Foreign language courses
There is a foreign language centre. The material on offer encompasses the classical cannon of Modern Western and Eastern European languages as well as "ancient" languages. It also covers Arabic, Chinese and courses in German Sign Language, includes exam preparation courses as well as the certification of standardised language examinations. more information
Special features regarding university sports
The university offers its own sports programme. Participation is subject to fees. Students from all higher education institutions are accepted. Students attending the institution can participate in the sports programme of the cooperating universities and universities of applied sciences in Berlin and Brandenburg. The university sports programme of the HU Berlin offers students and employees a broad range of courses. In addition to traditional sports such as football, volleyball or basketball, courses are also offered in trend sports such as Zumba, climbing or kickboxing. The university sports programme meets the steadily increasing demand, mainly for health sports courses, with an extensive range of specific courses. Approx. 17,000 participants take part in over 80 sports and forms of movement every semester. This includes also workshops, further education and competitive sports competitions. more information
