Special features regarding the library
Central university and public facility; Modern building with a pleasant atmosphere for learning, reading and communicating. Opening hours: Mon-Fri: 09:00-22:00, Sat: 10:00-14:00 (in the examination periods until 18:00); Self-service machines for borrowing and returning media; qualified, up-to-date library stock (approximately 175,000 volumes, 360 journal subscriptions, 104,000 e-books, 21,000 e-journals, 136 subject databases); Group study rooms (with beamer) and individual cabins available; various online tutorials and conventional training courses for scientific works

There is a foreign language centre. English, French, Spanish, Portuguese, Russian, Chinese, German as a Foreign Language.
Special features regarding university sports
The university offers its own sports programme. Some courses are free of charge, some subject to fees. Students attending the institution can participate in the TU Dresden sports programme. The programme is open to: Students of other higher education institutions in Dresden. Volleyball, badminton, football, table tennis, boxing, Yoga, rowing, pole fitness, cycling, basketball, climbing, winter and summer camp in cooperation with the SV Lok HTW: Judo, aikido, teakwondo, basketball, gymnastics, volleyball.
