Foreign language courses
There is a foreign language centre. English, French, Spanish, teaching Russian in the program students teach students; Monthly language gathering in English organised by Cosmopolitanclub; German grammar/conversation for international exchange students. more information
Special features regarding university sports
The university offers its own sports programme. Participation is subject to fees. At the TU Bergakademie Freiberg, students have the opportunity to take part in the mountaineering and climbing programme. Up to 40 sports activities every week in up to 20 (season-dependent) types of sports. The compulsory "Communication/Sport" subject offered as part of various Bachelor's degree courses constitutes one special feature. It aims to improve physical and mental performance and at the same time provide training in social skills, such as team work, communication and integration skills. The Hochschule Mittweida has been a Partner University of Leading Athletics since 1999, and it specifically aims to enable students to reconcile their studies with competitive sport. more information
