Special features regarding the library
The library is a part of Department III, Library and IT. In addition to supplying the university with information through an array of electronic and print media, the library is also an important place of learning on the campuses and a provider of expert services for training information skills. It supports the faculties of the HRW by offering tailored teaching sessions for curricular and non-curricular modules relating to skills development. more information

Special features regarding university sports
The university does not have its own sports programme. Students attending the institution can participate in the University of Duisburg-Essen sports programme. The university sports programme of the University of Duisburg-Essen covers (virtually) every kind of sport: from Futsal (Latin American version of indoor soccer), kajaking, climbing (indoor and outdoor), trampolining and Wing Tsun (early 19th century martial art from southern China) to zumba (Latin American dance fitness programme). All enrolled students are welcome to participate in the courses of the Hochschule Ruhr West University of Applied Sciences. more information
