The university library and its branch and specialist libraries are centrally located on the campus near the institute and are mostly open seven days a week until late in the evening. They offer around 1,600 reading and computer work stations with modern equipment. An easily accessible stock of current literature is supplemented by a rapidly expanding range of electronic media: There are 3.7 million printed volumes, around 1.3 million e-books and 49,000 online magazines available. The university offers its own sports programme. Participation is subject to fees. Students attending the institution can participate in the sports programme of the University of Marburg and the Technische Hochschule Mittelhessen. The programme is open to: Students of the University of Marburg and the Technische Hochschule Mittelhessen. Through its varied and competently provided university sports programme, the JLU aims to offer all students the opportunity to play sports and to take regular exercise, achieving a balance with studies. There is a particular focus on health-related courses, such as yoga, Pilates and back exercises.
