Special features regarding the library
Locations: The scientific departmental library is quiet and features workstations bathed in light on the 5th floor, with PC workstations for catalogue and online research.; Stock: The stock of reference media comprises some 3,900 different monographs, 200 local electronic media and 15 analogue journals as well as 85 licensed specialist databases.; Services: Library users can research/work at 14 stations for study and work, and in a quiet zone for relaxed reading. Rooms for work in small groups are available as well. Free access is given to printing, scanning and copying resources. The librarian regularly conducts courses for catalogue and online research while also providing support for research assignments. The latest core literature for the degree programmes is acquired on a regular basis. Integrative use of the local university and university libraries (especially the Dresden State and University Library) possible.
Foreign language center and courses
There is a foreign language centre. Languages offered: English, German as a foreign language, Spanish, Russian, Chinese.
Special features regarding university sports
The university offers its own sports programme. Dresden University of Applied Sciences cooperates with the Dresden university sports centre. All students and staff have exclusive access to the entire offer. Some courses are free of charge, some subject to fees. The university regularly participates in various team challenges (e.g. Rewe Team Challenge City Run, Cross-Country Ski Cup). For this purpose, the entrance fees and equipment are provided with the participation of teams of students and staff.
