Special features regarding the library
The Marburg University library is a functional single layered library system. It includes the university library with excellent opening hours (Mon-Sun 08: 00-24:00) and 15 departmental libraries for the science-related supply of literature for the departments and institutes. At the end of 2018, the library system was home to over 4.3 million printed volumes, and was well-stocked with electronic media. Since the spring of 2018, the new construction of the UB has become a modern and attractive place of learning. Research and teaching are supported by courses, consultations or workshops. more information

Special features regarding university sports
The university offers its own sports programme. Some courses are free of charge, some subject to fees. Students attending the institution can participate in the sports programme of other Hessian higher education institutions; in the case of non-semester events (in particular excursions) they may also take part in the sports programme of higher education institutions outside of Hesse. Wide, varied sports program for students and staff with a focus on health and fitness sport activities, ball sports, dance, martial arts and nature sports - especially in water sports with provision / use of 2 boathouses from the University on the Lahn and Edersee with courses in rowing, canoeing, catamaran / dinghy sailing, sport boat license formations; in addition, excursion offers for kiting, whitewater and surfing. In addition to recreational sports, also comprehensive competitive sports program with opportunities to participate in German university championships. more information
