Special features regarding the library
The university library at Marburg is a functional single-level library system. It comprises the university library with excellent opening hours (Mon - Sun 8:00 - 24:00) and 15 departmental libraries to supply academic literature to the departments and institutes. At the end of 2017, the library system was home to over 4.3 million printed volumes, and was well-stocked with electronic media. In spring 2018 the university library will move into a new building, which will include the current central library and 13 departmental libraries (humanities and social science). more information

Special features regarding university sports
The university offers its own sports programme. Some courses are free of charge, some subject to fees. Students attending the institution can participate in the sports programme of other Hessian higher education institutions; in the case of non-semester events (in particular excursions) they may also take part in the sports programme of higher education institutions outside of Hesse.The programme is open to: Students of other higher education institutions in Hesse. Broad and varied sports programme for students and staff with a particular focus on health and fitness, dance, martial arts and water sports.
