In addition to the new building opened in 2018 which has very good opening hours (Mon.-Sun. 8:00 a.m.-midnight), the University Library of Marburg also includes another 15 departmental libraries for the academic supply of literature to the departments and institutes. At the end of 2019, the library system was home to over 4.2 million printed volumes, and was well-stocked with electronic media. In addition to the attractive place of learning, the library also offers courses, advice, workshops and a media centre that supports working with and creating audiovisual material. more information |

The university offers its own sports programme. Some courses are free of charge, some subject to fees. Students attending the institution can participate in the sports programme of other Hessian higher education institutions; in the case of non-semester events (in particular excursions) they may also take part in the sports programme of higher education institutions outside of Hesse. Wide, varied sports program for students and staff with a focus on health and fitness sport activities, ball sports, dance, martial arts and nature sports - especially in water sports with provision / use of 2 boathouses from the University on the Lahn and Edersee with courses in rowing, canoeing, catamaran / dinghy sailing, sport boat license formations; in addition, excursion offers for kiting, whitewater and surfing.
