The KIT library is the central lending and service library of the KIT. The two central libraries on the north and south campuses offer a wide, interdisciplinary collection of more than two million books and research reports and more than 115,000 journals (print and electronic) for research and teaching. The academic focus is on the Natural Sciences and Engineering Science. Open around the clock, the 24-hour library on the south campus has 1,700 workspaces. The “Seatfinder” service provides information about free educational places and jobs. more information |
There is a foreign language centre. Languages offered: English, French, Spanish, Portuguese, Italian, Polish, Russian, Chinese, Japanese, Latin, Turkish, Arabic, Dutch, Swedish. more information |
The university offers its own sports programme. Some courses are free of charge, some subject to fees. Students attending the institution can participate in the PH Karlsruhe sports programme. 3 sports halls, 1 multi-functional open-air hall, 1 gym, 2 martial arts rooms, 1 grass court, 1 with artificial turf, 2 beach volleyball courts, 6 tennis courts, 1 shot put area, 1 outdoor climbing wall and 1 outdoor gym; Swimming pool, sauna; WALK-IN, Centre for Fitness and Health (1,200 customers); 78 disciplines, 370 courses, 24 external properties (sailing house, rowing boat house, surfing facility, 3 artificial turf pitches, 3 grass pitches, etc.). more information |
