Special features regarding the library

The university library has a stock of 5.3 million books, 53,500 electronic magazines and journals, 460,000 e-books and databases. The extensive electronic inventory from renowned publishers such as Springer Nature or ACS is available to university members remotely. The university library is open daily until midnight. It has a book courier service, German and international interlibrary lending and a comprehensive, prize-winning training programme and operates the electronic copy delivery service FAUdok and publisher FAU University Press. more information

Special features regarding university sports

The university offers its own sports programme. Some courses are free of charge, some subject to fees. Bavarian universities The program is open for: Technische Hochschule Nürnberg (TH Nürnberg), neighbouring universities, others as guest students. The FAU has its own water sports centre on the large Lake Brombach in Pleinfeld offering a wide range of sailing courses (Uni Jolle, Kat) and other water sports in the summer. The FAU is a Partner University of Leading Athletics of the Deutsche Hockey-Sportverband (German Hockey Association – DHSV). The programme is designed for popular sports.
